Currently in preproduction on a new SVT Drama series “Molanders”.

The story focuses on the Molanders family who escapes the big city for a new, countryside life. Script by renowned writer/director Ulf Kvensler. Director Leif Lindblom. Starring Eric Ericson, Livia Millhagen and Swedish Mezzo Soprano Malena Ernman.

Principal shooting starts this spring in the Alingsås and Gothenburg areas. Arri Alexa cameras supplied by Gothenburg Film Studios.

Ikea commercials

In the Headquarter studios of Ikea Communication, several promotional shoots are currently in production.
Together with prod.co Vingaland Film and Director Jan Forsberg, Nicklas shoots 6 new commercial spots for Ikea.

Using the Milo Motioncontrol and other different techniques, the films will be launched this fall. Stay tuned for upcoming links!

Shootings include cameras from RED (Epic) and Canon (C300).

Multicultural youth film project

IKEA film in the US

First part of an IKEA film for prod. co Vingaland Film was shot in NYC, Brooklyn and Denver Colorado.

Nicklas and director Jan Fobbe Forsberg covered some intence scenes in the Brooklyn Red Hook area before continuing in Centaniel, close to Denver in Colorado.

Shooting will continue in June-July covering Barcelona, Milano and Shanghai.

Wine Château filming in Bordeaux, France

Nicklas shot parts of Nahid Persson Sarvestanis new documentary with the working title “Prisoners in hell” produced by Setareh Persson and Real Reel Doc. Nahid recently also released her new biography titled “Always in my heart”.

Arctic shooting

Covering the most remote parts of northern Sweden for the travelshow “Faces & Places” for NTD, Nicklas and director Johan Nilsson endured heavy snowfall and cold weather situations. The team covered the area above the Polarcircle including Ice Hotel Jukkasjärvi, Tree Hotel in Harads and Moose Safari on Scooter in Svansele.

Shooting for the upcoming HD-network at NTD with Sony XDCam was partly tricky due to some extreme weather conditions.

The Documentary “I paint a little imagination” by director Linnea Widen is now finished and will be aired on national television in Sweden, SVT.

“John could not speak until the age of 7. But he could draw snapshots that told me what he experienced”. So the story of an artist of another kind began.

Annete draws guys. With simple strokes she expresses the stron feelings that we all carry. Her images of “lovers” is known throughout the hometown.

Final shooting for the documentary “Man behind the thrones” in Hollywood, Los Angeles completed in october. With director Kersti Grunditz and soundman Lars Jameson, Nicklas shot the final sequenses for an international, full-length documentary about the life and work of director/choreographer Vincent Paterson.

“Kristallen”, the Swedish TV industry Award, was distributed last week. This year’s winners in the class documentary film was “The Queen and I” by Nahid Persson Sarvestani and shot by Nicklas. The film about Farah Diba has won several international prizes.

“The Queen and I” won the Rockies Award

The documentary “Queen and I” was awarded on Tuesday evening a Rockies Award in the non-fiction class at Banff World Television Festival in Canada, North America’s largest TV festival.
The documentary was shown in SVT2 January 3 this year and depicts the charged meeting between the Swedish-Iranian filmmaker Nahid Persson Sarvestani, who participated in the revolution thirty years ago, and the former queen of Iran, Farah Diba. The film is directed by Nahid Persson Sarvestani and is a co-production between Swedish Television Documentary and the production company Real Reel.
Thirty years after the Swedish-Iranian filmmaker Nahid Persson Sarvestani participated in the revolution that overthrew the monarchy and the Shah of Iran, she returned to their homeland. The success of her previous film, the internationally acclaimed and award-winning Prostitution behind the veil, aroused strong feelings in the Iranian regime and Nahid was immediately placed under house arrest.
She was subjected to harsh interrogation and forced to sign a document in which she promised never to make films about his homeland Iran.
But back home in Sweden again Nahid decided to make a new movie. This time she turns her focus to Farah Diba – The Shah of Iran’s wife. Against all odds, she realizes that they have more in common than either of them could have foreseen.
“The Queen & I” earlier this year has been nominated for a Guldbagge and won awards at the Prix Italia.

The team, that includes Soundman Lars Jameson has been collecting material for the feature lenght documentary for the past year. Locations include L.A, Las Vegas, Montreal and New York. In october, the team will shoot the final scenes in L.A.

“Fallet – Hagamannen” & “Fallet – Utpressningen” for SVT Drama

Hagamannen, Rödeby, Skandia samt det kriminella gängets utpressning av ett par restaurangägare i Göteborg är fyra rättsfall som alla skapat stora rubriker under 2000-talet. Nu dramatiseras de i ett samarbete mellan SVT:s Drama- och Samhällsredaktioner.

- De här fallen har det gemensamt att de skakade om en stor del av svenska folket. Historierna är så starka i sig att de är värda att dramatiseras och med dramats hjälp återskapar vi avgörande händelser på ett sätt som vanlig journalistik inte förmår, sägerChristian Wikander, programchef för Drama&Nöje på SVT Göteborg.

Fallet består av fyra dramatiseringar av ovan nämnda rättsfall med upphovspersoner som regissörerna Reza Parsa och Molly Hartleb, manusförfattaren Håkan Lindhé och journalisten Gunnar Lindstedt (Trustoravslöjandet) m. fl. Programlängden är 45 minuter och varje avsnitt avslutas med en intervju med någon expert i de olika ärendena. Intervjuare är vid samtliga tillfällen journalisten Karin Alfredsson.

“The Queen and I” Receives SIGNIS Prize at Prix Italia 2009

Torino, September 25, 2009 (SIGNIS) – At the 2009 television festival Prix Italia, held this year in Torino, the SIGNIS Jury awrded its main Prize to the TV film The Queen and I directed by Nahid Persson Sarvestani (BBC, UK).

“ The Queen and I is an excellent example of an intermingled personal and world story, the “great story” and the “little story”. The film narrates the encounter of the director, Perrson Sarvestani, (in her youth a member of communist revolutionary groups, and active in the revolt against the Iranian regime), and Farah Diba, wife of the Scià of Persia who was sent into exile also because of her participation… Both suspicious and distrustful at the begining, but shortly after a profound relationship was created between the two. They later discover they share common passions like nostalgia for their home country, the love for art, and the concern for the present Iranian situation. The film finely explores the sentiments of the two protagonists, and the world’s history references invite the viewer to reflect on how choices can not always be avoided.”

Underline how many works submitted to the Prix Italia were focused on the promotion of human values, a positive sign illustrating how the television world can be attentive to those values, the SIGNIS Jury gave two Commendations.

Nicklas was the cinematographer on the feauture length documentary. The film has also been in competition on several Filmfestivals including Sundance and was aired on HBO. Other awards include the Rockie Award at the Banff World Television Festival .
Nominations include Best Documentary at the Swedish Grammy “Guldbaggen” and best Cinematograpy at the Film & Tvfestival in China.
